The LEAGOO t5c is a smartphone with some stylish design, body and made of metallic back cover. This smartphone comes with some of the latest specifications to look out for in an Android device except that it’s built with Android Nougat 7.0 instead of Oreo 8.0.
This device was made available for NAIJAKNOWHOW to review, all thanks to LEAGOO. For those who don’t know about this brand, LEAGOO made massive sales during the recently concluded Jumia Mobile Week, in fact, they reportedly made over $1 million in just a few days. You can CLICK to check out their official store on Jumia. So back to the LEAGOO T5c review. I have spent time playing with this device, so here is everything you should know about the LEAGOO T5c before reaching a buying decision! Let’s dive right in.

LEAGOO T5c Design
The T5c is one of LEAGOO’s device with a premium build and quality material. Combining with an all-metal unibody design, the T5c is dedicated to the beauty of curve and radiance.
The screen of the T5c is built with the SONY 5.5″ 1920 x 1080 full high definition IPS display. In case you don’t know what this means, it implies that the T5c screen display is insane and can produce approximately 2 million pixels!
The LEAGOO T5c is only 8.5mm thick, 153.3mm in height and 76.1mm in width.
I feel light compared to my existing device. It weighed 173g when I checked its weight without the silicon case protector.
Moving on to the cameras, you find the dual rear camera at the top left corner. This 8MP + OV 2MP dual rear camera is made by SAMSUNG When we do a camera test (scroll down to see), we will know the image production quality of the T5c camera since we are familiar with the capability of SAMSUNG branded cameras. Also at the back is the sensor, flashlight and the LEAGOO logo right below.
LEAGOO T5c comes with a non-removable 3000mAh battery. At the top of the front, starting from the right… You will see the sensor, charging notify light support (Blue LED), flash, speakers for receiving calls and the 5MP selfie camera.
You will find the fingerprint scanner located on the lower part of the bezels. And I must say, the bezels at the top and bottom are quite large compared to the kinds of phones we are getting these days.
At the bottom, you will find the earphone port, USB port and the speaker grills.
The SIM tray will be found on the left side of the phone. The SIM tray can either take two nano-SIM cards or one nano-SIM + SD Card, it definitely won’t take two SIM + SD card… So the choice is all yours.
On the right side are the volume rocker and power button.
Turning the LEAGOO T5c on…
It loads the green LEAGOO logo as seen in the screenshot below and unboxing video embedded earlier.
this device comes with the LEAGOO OS 2.1 (based on Android 7.0 Nougat), an Intel Octa-core Spreadtrum SC9853I CPU, 32GB ROM with 3GB RAM.
The fingerprint sensor used in the LEAGOO T5c has an outstanding reliability while being very fast to respond at 0.1s. And it’s a non-press fingerprint ID unlike the Infinix Note 4.
The speaker — I wasn’t so impressed by the speaker of the T5c compared to the KIICAA smartphone (see my KIICAA POWER review). Here is a comparison video versus the LEAGOO KIICAA POWER. If there are other things you want me to check or test, kindly share using the comment box below.

LEAGOO T5c Performace & Storage
To be honest, I was quite impressed by the Intel innovation Octa-core Spreadtrum SC9853I CPU, Mali-T820 GPU with 3GB of RAM… This means, enough multitasking and smooth running of apps, games and more.
When put on an actual test, I opened a couple of applications (7 to be precise) all at once to test its ability to properly run apps without restarting. And… Boom!!! It opened it all without reloading. Storage can be expanded to 32GB using an SD card if the ROM isn’t enough for you giving you more space to save files and apps.

LEAGOO T5c Battery Test
The LEAGOO T5c comes with a non-removable 3000mAh battery capacity with 5V2A quick charge and according to LEAGOO… they claimed this device can go 8 hours of video play, 20 hours continuous calling, 36 hours normal use and 10 days standby.
I tested the strength of the battery playing the Modern combat 5 for about 13 minutes. It took about 5% of battery juice (Went from 46% to 41%) and was moderately warm. At 41% the phone projected the battery would last for about 1 day 9 hours at moderate battery consumption.
I went ahead to run a Geekbench test, I noticed the device went from 41% to 28% (13% of battery use) in just 43 minutes. Under intensive battery usage, this device can only go between 5 to 6 hours before recharging. Not impressed! With the 5V2A quick charging feature (use original charger), this device can be charged up to 100% from 0% in less than 2 hours.

LEAGOO T5c REVIEW (FRONT CAMERA) A sample of the selfie video with the front camera in daylight. LEAGOO T5c REVIEW (FRONT CAMERA + FLASHLIGHT) This video was shot in a dark room with the front selfie camera + flash, the quality output is terrible and you should not even bother. LEAGOO T5c REVIEW (FRONT CAMERA + FLASHLIGHT + FAST MOTION) If you probably know about slow motion then you shouldn’t be too surprised about this type of video. Amazingly the LEAGOO T5c comes with a camera feature that allows you to take slow and fast motion videos. Here is an example of a slow fast motion video taken under a well-illuminated room.

LEAGOO T5c REVIEW (REAR CAMERA + ZOOM) This is the sample of video with the dual rear cameras and zoom test shot during the day. I think it has a strong zooming power but the colour distribution in the object is poor. My thoughts about the LEAGOO T5c
Pros (Advantages)
Build quality Pro camera features (slow motion and fast) Storage and RAM Affordable Full High Definition (FHD) display
Cons (Disadvantages)
Large bezels USB Type C not available Battery capacity is just moderate No earphone in the box
LEAGOO T5c Price and availability
This device is available on Jumia (official LEAGOO store) and it retails between N37,000 to N40,000 which I think is pretty decent for a phone of this pedigree!
Where to buy the LEAGOO T5c
In conclusion If you are looking for a budget smartphones with dope camera and insane build, then consider buying the LEAGOO T5c Android smartphone. I particularly love the build quality, camera (the ability to take videos in slow motion and fast forward), the display and of course its affordability. This is one phone that was built using components from four top brands — Processor from Intel Innovation, Display from SHARP, Battery from LG, Camera from SAMSUNG… Please, what more do you expect?
