This chipset comes as an update to the August-launched Snapdragon 670 SoC. The SD670 SoC is present in Vivo X23 and Oppo R17 just to mention a few. It possesses an octa-core CPU in which four of the cores are ARM Cortex-A75 (Kryo 360 Gold) that clocked at 2.0GHz while the remaining four are ARM Cortex-A55 (Kryo 385 Silver) that clock at 1.6GHz. On the other hand, this new chip brings enhancements in gaming, AI and imaging sectors found in flagship smartphones to the mid-range mobile phones it powers. Snapdragon 675 also possesses an octa-core CPU but the components are different from that of the SD670. Its CPU comprises improved Kryo 460 processors. Two of these cores – the performance-based ARM Cortex A76 – run at a speed of 2.0GHz while the other efficiency-based six cores, ARM Cortex A55 clocked at 1.7GHz.
Moreover, the GPU remains the same as the GPU found in the SD670, that is, the 6th gen Adreno 612 GPU. Added to this, Qualcomm employed the Huawei GPU Turbo technology on this chip for decreased janks. Tools such as Unity, Unreal, Messiah, NeoX, OpenGL ES 3.2, Open CL 2.0, Vulkan, and DirectX 12, Snapdragon Profiler are supported on this GPU to enhance the gaming as was mentioned earlier. The chip supports triple cameras up to 16MP or a solo shooter with a 25MP lens. Added to this, there’s the third-gen multi-core AI engine that spices up the imaging qualities. 3D facial unlock and 4K video resolution is also supported on the chip. Moving on to the display sector, the chip provides support for FHD+ resolution and DSP protection during facial unlocking. Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology is also enabled for OEMs that intend to utilize it. Other salient features the Snapdragon 675 chip includes X12 LTE modem (Cat.12 600Mbps download), Dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 ac with MU-MIMO 2×2, Bluetooth 5.0 and Qualcomm Aqstic audio tech, Dual SIM Dual VoLTE.
