Facebook Inc’s app and photo-sharing platform Instagram are down for thousands of users, according to outage tracking site Downdetector.com. The portal shows there have been more than 20,000 incidents of people reporting problems with Facebook and Instagram. Meanwhile, the social media giant’s instant messaging platform WhatsApp was also down for more than 14,000 users, while Messenger was down for nearly 3,000 users. Downdetector only tracks outages by compiling status reports from a range of sources, including user-submitted errors on its platform. The outage may affect more users. Facebook said they are working on the issue and hope to resolve it soon.
